Shrader, Wayne Calvin

Wayne Calvin Shrader, 55 of Pearisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on February 9th, 1960, and was the son of the late James Allen and Gracie Lorene French Shrader. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Allen Shrader, Jr.

Wayne was a longtime employee of furniture factories in both Dublin and Pulaski. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. On top of that, Wayne enjoyed cooking, making everyone feel at home with his home, and his love for family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Connie Jean Shrader; three daughters, Christina Green and Andy Dennis of Pearisburg, Jessica Akers and husband Shannon of Bluefield, Virginia, and Stacie Hounshell of Bluefield, Virginia; a son, Kenneth Shrader and wife Karen of Bluefield, Virginia; six grandchildren; five sisters, Brenda Tiller of Narrows, Bobbie Jean Lambert of Rocky Gap, Betty Gusler and husband Donnie of Pearisburg, Patricia Stowers and husband Darrell of Pearisburg, and Christine Collins and husband Randy of Pearisburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21st, 2015 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Shahn Wilburn and Pastor Jay Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Friday from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Riffe’s Funeral Service, Inc.; 600 Main Street; Narrows, Virginia 24124, to cover final expenses.
