MARTIN, Tracy Lee
Tracy Lee Martin, 52, of Carpenter Lane, Pembroke, departed this life Friday afternoon, May 15, 2015 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Pearisburg, on August 12, 1962, he was a son of Wilma Stacy Martin of Pembroke and the late Marion Dempsey Martin. Tracy learned the carpenter trade from his Dad and that was his real work love, but he also served as a mechanic, truck driver, equipment operator and concrete finisher with his family business. His family was very important to him and he loved each and every one. He never had a harsh word to say about anyone and always tried to help if anyone asked. Tracy was a man of few words and he only spoke when he had something to say. He was a good friend to all who wanted to be his friend, and he was a wonderful husband. Tracy was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Martin, his paternal grandparents Harold and Nancy Williams Martin and his maternal grandparents Ephriam “Jack” and Minnie Pauley Stacy. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Debra E. Martin; his mother Wilma Stacy Martin, of Pembroke; his step-children Kayla and Daniel Albert of Pembroke; his sister Stacy Martin of Pembroke; his brothers and sisters-in-law Cecil and Bonnie Martin of California, Adam and Brenda Martin of California, E. H. Martin of Dublin; his uncle Cantrall Martin and his wife Kitty of Pearisburg; his great-uncle Ross E Martin of Pembroke; his best friends Dick Martin and Glenn Meredith; and many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 7:00 pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, New River Ward in Pembroke with Bishop Darin Jones presiding. The family will receive friends at the church two hours before the services. The Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke is handling the arrangements.
