ANNA BERRY BAUBLITZ, 86, of the White Gate community of Pearisburg, VA danced her way through Heaven’s gates Thursday, January 28, 2015. She was born on November 10, 1929 in Mifflin Town, PA the daughter of the late Banks & Dora Love Berry. She was a member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church and sang in the Mechanicsburg Charge Choir. She enjoyed cooking for the Adult Day Care. She loved to dance and was a prominent member of the “Hollybrook Social Group.” Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn W. Baublitz, Sr., and a brother, Banks M. Berry. Left to cherish her memory are her sons & daughters-in-law, George & Nancy Baublitz, Blacksburg, and Glenn Baublitz, Jr. & Laura Garnett, Lynchburg; her daughters & sons-in-law, Janice & Bob Thomas, Pearisburg, Donna & John O’Brien, White Hall, MD, Glenda & Larry Ledford, Parkton, MD and Kim & Ronnie Cumbee, Staffordsville; a brother & sister-in-law, Edgar & Barbara Berry, Parkton, MD; a sister & brother-in-law, Thelma & Harry Thompson, FL; her grandchildren, Bo Thomas, Monica Horan, Jay Troyer, Tonya Mullins, Carl Openshaw, Krysta Whittaker, Jordan, Sierra, Jaden, Ola & Ira Ledford; her great-grandchildren, Tasha, Tamara & Kelsea Mullins, Aryanna & Mia Horan, Justice & Colton Openshaw and Sam Thomas; and a host of special friends and neighbors, too many to list. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Rev. Danny Shortridge officiating. A committal service will follow at the Stinson Cemetery, White Gate. The family will receive friends at the White Gate Community Center for a compassion meal that will directly follow the graveside service. The family suggests in lieu of bringing food to the home, please consider taking pot luck to the community center for all of Anna’s family and friends to enjoy together. The family also suggests, in lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Anna’s memory to either Mt Zion United Methodist Church, The American Cancer Society or The White Gate Ruritan Club.
