CLEVENGER, Clarence Fulmer

Clarence F. Clevenger, 88, of Narrows, VA went to be with our Lord on May 9, 2015.  Clarence was born on November 12, 1926 in Williamson, WV.  He was a 1943 graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN.  He served as a company clerk with the 331st Field Artillery Battalion in Manila, Philippines from 1945 to 1946; graduated from Virginia Tech in 1950: owned and operated the Western Auto store in Narrows for 40 years; and served as a deacon and elder as a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Narrows, VA for 63 years.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, mother Ethel Clevenger, father Melvin Clevenger and stepmother Rebecca Clevenger, brother Edsel Clevenger and sister Glenda Taylor.  He is survived by his cherished wife of 67 years, Nancy Brown Clevenger; two daughters Cathy Wiley and husband Ken of Williamsburg, VA and Emily Vollmer and husband Karl of Richlands, VA; four grandchildren David Wiley of Alexandria, VA, Alison Boulais and husband Ryan of Short Pump, VA, Kurt Vollmer of Painter, VA, and Catherine Vollmer of Richlands, VA; one great-grandchild Andrew Boulais; one brother Ken Clevenger and wife Irene of Blacksburg, VA; and several loving nieces, nephews, and siblings-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Narrows.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 in the church.  The family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider First Presbyterian Church; 702 Memorial Boulevard; Narrows, VA 24124.
