COMBS, Ronald Austin

RONALD AUSTIN COMBS, 61, of Pembroke passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 31, 1954 in Pearisburg to the late James Riley & Margie Leona Sanders Combs. He had previously attended Pearisburg Christ Fellowship, liked horses and enjoyed gardening. He also enjoyed his fish aquariums.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Combs and his son, James Michael Combs.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles & Dorothy Combs, Frankie & Betty Combs, Paul Combs, Donald Combs & Amy Mundy, all of Pembroke and Thomas & Angie Combs of Narrows; his sisters & brothers-in-law, Madeline & Robert Dalton of Pearisburg, Helen & Safford Stanley and Connie & “Skip” Songer, all from Pembroke; 3 grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews, too many to list.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with the Rev. Phil Vickers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M.

Per his request, Ronald will be cremated and his interment will take place at a later date.
