CRUMPLER, Sr., Henry Clay

Henry Clay Crumpler, Sr., 55 of Narrows, passed away Monday, August 31st, 2015. He was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on December 25th, 1959, and was the son of the late William Clarence Crumper, Sr. and Lola Elizabeth Harts Crumpler; a brother, William Clarence Crumpler, Jr.; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Crumpler Holland; and a niece, Jamie Renee Holland. Henry served in the U.S. Navy veteran during the first Iran hostage crisis during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and was a longtime employee of Lhoist Chemical Lime in Kimbalton.  A talented woodworker, leather worker, and excelled at making knives.  He loved spending time at the beach, fishing and crabbing.  But most of all, Henry loved spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Mary Lucas Crumpler; a son, Henry Clay (Clay) Crumpler, Jr. and wife Amanda of Narrows; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Lizard) Crumpler of Narrows; a grandson, Camden Newby; a brother, John Lee Crumpler and wife Lisa of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; a sister, Lola Songer and husband Rush, also of Rocky Mount; a brother-in-law Robert Holland and wife Pat of Nash County, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Crumpler of Rocky Mount; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 4th, 2015 at 7 PM at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows with Pastors John and Millie Jenkins officiating.  The family will receive friends at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church Friday from 5 PM until just prior to the service.  At his request, he was cremated.  The family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church; 809 College Street; Narrows, Virginia 24124.
