EPPLING, Frank Spencer

Frank Spencer Eppling, 91, of Cascade Drive in Pembroke departed this life Friday morning, December 25, 2015 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Waiteville, WV on April 28, 1924, he was a son of the late Frank S. and Etta Jones Eppling. Frank was employed for many years as a foreman at Virginia Lime Co. at Kimballton and later in the boiler house at Virginia Tech, and was a veteran of the U S Army in WW II. Until his health failed he faithfully supported The Pembroke Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois Stevers Eppling, his daughter Bonnie Anderson, his son Donald O’Dell Eppling, his brothers Costello and Ira Lee Eppling, his sisters Gladys Arthur, Christine Dunbar, Virginia Lafon, his daughter-in-law Irma Dean Eppling, his son-in-law Alfred K. Anderson, and his granddaughter Kerry Woodbury. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons and daughter-in-law Tommy Epperly of Dublin, Monte Eppling of Pembroke, Ricky and Teri Eppling of Pembroke; his daughters and sons-in-law Connie and Jimmy Fisher of Pembroke, Charlotte and Mike Epperley of Blacksburg, and Merinda and Jeff Williams of Pembroke; his fifteen grandchildren and his twenty-three great-grandchilddren. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 2:00 pm in the Fillinger Cemetery at Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke Saturday evening, January 2, 2016 from 6 until 8 pm. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of choice in Frank’s name.
