Hodge, Jerry Wayne

Jerry Wayne Hodge, 72 of Pearisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 19th, 2015.

He was born in Newport on May 13th, 1942 and was the son of the late Thomas Cleveland Hodge and Erma Maynard Rogers Paxton. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, T.J. Hodge; and a nephew, Josh Hodge.

Wayne enjoyed gardening, fishing and golfing. He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows, and thoroughly cherished his family and many friends.

Left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Lois and Randy Blankenship of Narrows, Faye Heaster of Shawsville, Janet and Frankie Sexton of Pearisburg, Monica and Tim Redmond of Salem; a son at heart, Dean and Melissa Thorne of Narrows; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two special aunts, Christine Brown of Ripplemead and Katie Hodge of Catawba; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church, 809 College Street in Narrows, with Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at 12 noon in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
