PERDUE, Barbara Christian
Barbara Christian Perdue, 68 of Narrows, passed away peacefully at home and has now joined her husband and son in Heaven on Sunday, August 30th, 2015. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on February 23rd, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Elmer Lee and Kathern Ida Blankenship Christian. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Bobby Ray Perdue; a son, Kelly Ray Perdue; two brothers, Eldridge Dean Christian, and Charles Robert Christian. Barbara was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 30 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Sharron Perdue Jones and fiancee’ J.J. Stowers of Narrows; two grandsons, Dale Jones and Ryan Jones, both of Narrows; a granddaughter, Chase Perdue of Narrows; a very special great-granddaughter, Harper Skye (Stinker) Jones; a sister, Drema Smith of Oakvale, West Virginia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and special friends, including her “fur babies,” Lady Bug and Toby. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Lynn Garrison-Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM.
