Roulet, Sr., Wayne Collins

Roulet Wayne Collins, Sr., 68, of Shawsville and formerly of Pembroke, departed this life Sunday evening March 29, 2015 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg. Born in Pearisburg on February 25, 1947, he was a son of the late Roulet Miller and Lucille Snidow Collins. Wayne was a 1965 graduate of Giles High School and attended East Tennessee State College, was a veteran of the U S Air Force Viet Nam Era, and was retired from Atlas Logistics (Kroger) in Salem with 37 years service. This gentle man loved his family, his friends, and enjoyed his life as an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of Rock Bottom Bassmaster Club and an excited UVA and Florida State supporter.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years ((m. 1-25-1967) Janice Gautier Collins; his son and daughter-in-law R. Wayne, Jr. and Kim Lefler Collins of Shawsville; his grandson Matthew Shayne Collins of Shawsville; his brothers and sisters-in-law Douglas and Mary Collins of Narrows and Donnie and Doretta Collins of Pembroke; his sisters and brother-in-law Betty C. Peck of Pearisburg, Bonnie C. Osborne of Fairmont, WV, and Diane and Willis Riggs of Pembroke; and his fishing and hunting buddies Richard Williams of Pearisburg, Jeff Horton of Atlanta, GA, Kevin Price of Pearisburg, Anthony Curtis of Shawsville, Mac Atkins of Shawsville, and Larry French of Claytor Lake and his WaHoo buddy Alex Woods of Glen Var.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Gautier Family Cemetery on Fletcher’s Mountain Road at Narrows.
