WIMMER, Randy Craig
Randy Craig Wimmer, 53 of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at the home of his parents, Andy and Gracie Wimmer in Narrows. He was born in Pearisburg on April 5th, 1962. When he was a child, he lived in several states because his Dad worked construction. Randy’s family moved to Narrows in 1977, where he graduated from Narrows High School in 1980. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force, and later worked for Hobet Mining in Madison, West Virginia for ten years. Afterward, he chose to enter the ministry, where he served for five years until being diagnosed with liver disease. He attended college in Ohio, majoring in hospital administration. He later lived and worked for a time in Farmville, Virginia, where he married a woman in his faith, Elizabeth Hutchison. Randy worked several other jobs until his condition worsened. In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by two sisters, Terri Forbes of Glen Lyn, and Connie Wimmer of Narrows; two uncles, Bill Wimmer of Narrows and Arnold Mullins of High Point, North Carolina; an aunt, Pat Hare of Amelia, Virginia; a special aunt, Bertha Emerson of Chester, Virginia; four other aunts, two from Lexington, Kentucky, two from Hopewell, Virginia; three other uncles, one from Lexington, Kentucky, one from Breaks, Virginia, and one from Oakwood, Virginia; a special friend, Bill W., for 29 years; and another special friend, Duart Addison of Bluefield, Virginia; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Tuesday from 11 AM until just prior to the service.
