Farrier, Jenny Grogan

Jenny Grogan Farrier, 40, of Clover Hollow, Newport, VA departed this life Good Friday morning, April 3, at her home after a courageous battle with Huntingtons Disease. Jenny was a graduate of Giles High School and completed four years at Virginia Tech and had been employed at Kroger in Blacksburg and Carol Lee Donuts. She was a member of the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church at Newport. She was preceded in death by her mother Sally Allen Farrier, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Jenny leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted and caring father Martin P Farrier, III of Newport; her brother Mart P Farrier IV of the home; her cousin who grew up with her like a brother Billy Farrier and his wife Lisha and his children Lola, Odessa, and Owen; her uncle Frank G. Farrier of Christiansburg; her maternal aunts Sabrina Allen, Diane Allen, Becky Michael, Vivian Allen, Sherrie Williams, and Debbie Allen; her faithful hospice attendant Tina Steenken; her devoted friends and caregivers Helen Renquist, Susan Edwards, Molly Allamong, Carolyn Copenhaver, Glenna Schelch and Cathy Ceritano; the devoted church families of Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, First Christian Church of Newport and Sherry Memorial Christian Church who have helped so much during her illness. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 7:00 pm in the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church in Newport with her pastor, The Rev. Morris Fleischer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 until 7 pm before the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Jenny’s memory to the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, P O Box 133, Newport, VA 24128.
