FLETCHER, Roy Alfred

Post ImageRoy Alfred Fletcher,78, of Narrows, departed this life Sunday afternoon, April 26, 2015 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, after a lifetime of hard work and dedication to his family and customers.  He operated Fletchers Coal Yard in Narrows for over fifty years serving Giles County and the surrounding communities. He was a faithful member of Bethel Chapel at Clendennin and has now entered into eternal life in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was preceded in death by his parents Mason and Virgie Fletcher, his brothers Robert Fletcher, Joseph Fletcher Randall Fletcher and Ronald Fletcher, sisters Beatrice F Robertson Reba Mann and Louise Baker, and his ex-wife and mother of his children Bonnie Gillespie Stevers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters and son-in-law Lisa and Mark Sigmon of Princeton, WV and Melinda “Mitzie” Wilburn of Narrows; his grandchildren Craig Wilburn, Michelle Wagner, and great-grandchildren Memphis Wagner and Shelby Cole ; his sisters Marie Robertson of Pearisburg, Doris Williams of Narrows;  several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke  with his Pastor, Eddie Kendall officiating.  Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery at Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 t0 8 pm.
