WILLIAMS, Margaret Dent

Margaret Dent Williams, 90 of Pearisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21st, 2016. She was born in Elgood, West Virginia on May 27th, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Dexter Hamilton and Laura Thompson Dent Short.  In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Earvingston Williams, Sr.; a son, Harold Williams, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Williams; six brothers, Harry (Bud) Dent, Mack Dent, Lewis Dent, Eldie Dent, Wesley Dent and Herman Dent; and two sisters, Eva Lusk and Lelia Morgan. Margaret was a charter member of Angels Rest Baptist Church in Pearisburg, and a retired employee of the former First Union Bank of Virginia where she worked as a teller for many years. Left to cherish her memory are two grandsons, Dr. Timothy J. Williams and Dean Mundy of Eugene, Oregon, and Andrew J. Williams and Jennifer White of Blacksburg; a sister, Joyce Wolbert of Martinsburg, West Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Joyce Riffe and husband James of Narrows; three special nephews, Herman Dent, Jr. and wife Dr. Emily Lawrence of Radford, and Danny Dent and wife Angie of Glen Lyn, and Jimmy Williams and wife Dora of Pearisburg; two special great nieces, Cortney Pitt and husband Malcolm, and Maggie Dent; and three special great nephews, Sam Dent, Tyler Riffe and Brandale Stewart; along with Margaret’s caregivers and the staff of Intrepid Hospice. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 25th, 2016 at 11 AM at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.  At Margaret’s request, there will be no public visitation.
